Next year!

Hi people,
Today's post is on next year and how I'm feeling about been a year eight. Well on to the Q&A;
Image result for house captainWhat are some things you want to do/try/achieve next year?
Well I'm running for house captain so it would be really cool if I could get in for that. I would like to get a main role for the production.
What are somethings your looking forward to next year?
Ummm, I'm definitely looking forward to the production and the change of class. I like the class I'm in at the moment but it would be cool if next year I could be Sandrine, Olivia AND Amelia.
What are somethings that could be challenging?
Well if I was in a class without any of my friends, that would be sad. And when I'm a year eight I would have tones more responsibility so that could also be hard.

Well that's all for today,

Book Week:)

Hi guys,
I'm back with another post. This week we get to choose our topic and since I'm a bookaholic I HAD to do it on book week!
So book week is exactly what it is called, throughout the week we get to do tones of stuff to do with books, like reading picture books to little kids, filming scenes from books, dressing up as your favourite book character stuff like that. We tones of activities so I'm just going to my favourite two.
Image result for books
The first thing I'm going to talk about is filming a scene from a book. My group was Sandrine, Amelia and Olivia. The book we decided to do was Awful Auntie. We did two scenes the first one was were Stella found out her parents had been poisoned (Me and Amelia were the parents Olivia was Soot and Sandrine was Stella). The second scene which we filmed was when the police came to look at the inspect to crime. It was really fun to film especially acting out the detective.
Image result for books
The last thing I'm going to talk about is the book quiz. So two people from each year group in every house got chosen to participate in the quiz. From my house (Murphy) me and Sandrine got chosen. The actual quiz was in the form of a Kahoot and luckily it wasn't to hard. AND MURPHY WON!

Because Of Winn Dixie

Image result for because of winn dixie
Heyo,
Hi people I'm back with an other post this week its about a book you read when you were younger. As you can probably I'm writing about "because of Winn Dixie". I was around eight when I first read it so I can't remember the exact plot but I'll explain it as best I can.

The book is about a girl called Opal, who's life basically sucks. Her mum had left Opal and her dad when she was still a little girl. She just had to move away from her old home and Opal missed her old town and friends. Until one day when she was out in the village shopping she sees a stray dog ransack a fruit and veggie shop. Opal felt sorry for this hungry stray, and brung him home. The story is about how how the dog (which she named Winn Dixie after the Grocery store she found him in) falls in love with Opal and how Opal falls in love with him.

The story is soooo cute and I still read it now and then, because it is really well written and just an easy read for when ever your bored.

Learning stuff

Image result for plagiarismHello people,
This weeks post is a bit weird, I have to explain three things I have learned recently at school. Okay here we go;

First I learned about is what plagiarism is and why it's so bad. I learnt about it when we were doing a lesson on Egypt. I think it stuck with me because you can get arrested and put in jail for plagiarism. The thing is plagiarism can be anything really, copying a tiny sentence or a whole essay.

Another thing I learnt was how to divide and multiple fractions. I have never been very good with fractions but after a while I started to understand what to do. And (bonus) it was really fun! The weird thing is when your dividing fractions they get bigger and when you multiply them they get smaller!

The last thing I learnt was about the pyramids. I didn't learn just one fact but several such as-
-The biggest pyramid ever built was made in Giza for king Kufu
-They were filled with hundred's of traps for robbers
-There are two types of pyramids, step pyramids and sloped pyramids

My Passion Project

Hello People,
This week's topic is passion projects! You may be wondering, what are passion projects? Well there basically topics your interested and want to learn more about.

My topic is drama, every week I write a play and then perform it. I'm working on it with Olivia because it is kinda impossible to perform plays with one only person. Last week we did a play on Halloween. We want to write a new play every second week so we have some time to work on our performance skills.

I choose this topic because I love drama and I thought it would be fun to learn more about it so I can become a better actor. I also like writing and I will be improving my writing skills when I write the play.

Well that's all for today,

Athletics Day, Yay?

Image result for valerie adams shot putHi,
I'm back with an other post and its about ATHLETICS DAY! The annoying thing is that I sprained my ankle a few days before so I could only participate in the sports were you threw things.

My favourite sport was Vortex, I didn't do to well but it was still really fun. The girls and boys were split in to two groups so I only had to compete against around 10 other people. The best three throws got different coloured flags (blue, white and yellow). The people who threw them then Stood together in one corner and the others sat together in an other. You got three tries to get in the top three. Well to make a long story short I didn't get in the top three, but it was fun to watch others fail miserably. The best bit about the vortexes was the sound they made when you threw them, its kind of a cross between a whistle and shriek, but still somehow, satisfying to listen to.

My LEAST favourite sport was shot put, It was very, very boring. We had to wait for AGES for the boys to finish (it took them around 20 minutes whereas the girls only took around 10). The scoring system was basically the same as it was for Vortex but the balls were way harder to throw because they were so heavy. Another bad thing was that if you didn't throw them or hold them right it would injurer you.

During the day I think I showed perseverance when we were doing shot put because I don't enjoy doing it and I just wanted to stop. But I didn't and I kept on trying. Surprisingly I actually improved!

That's all for now,
Bye!

My Holidays:3

Hi,

Image result for lord of the ringsI'm back and today I'm going to be talking about my holidays! I only did one really interesting thing and that thing was having a sleepover with Sandrine. We did sleepover stuff; like eating pizza and playing video games. Until we decided to watch a movie. Normal people would watch a reasonably long movie like ice age or the Incredible's, I don't know. Well we decided to watch lord of the rings, not just one ALL of them AND Sandrine only had the extended additions all together it took 11.7 hours. Well I was there to 6:00pm the next day. Still good times....

Today's post is about...........PARLIAMENT! So last Friday (with school, duh) we visited parliament. We went to were the debating chamber (you can't touch the chairs), we saw the earthquake strengthening at the bottom of the bee hive, the middle of the bee hive a and a mini debating chamber. My favorite part of the trip was going the mini debating chamber. It's was basically a chamber for people touring the Bee Hive so they get to learn about debating and stuff. We got to sit on the chairs each party would sit on and debate about "very" important stuff like which party is better. A few of the things we learnt were;

  • What the Government decides
  • The speakers responsibility's
  • Parliament's history

Me:3
Today's post is about BOOK GROUPS! (Again). Were're talking about book groups again because (sadly) they have ended. Well on to the Q&A!
Do you think you achieved your book group goals?
My group worked pretty well together. (Just a recap I was reading The Dark Is Rising, REALLY GOOD!), so we managed to listen to each others point of view and contribute our ideas. I think I achieved the other goals (think more deeply about the ideas in the book, and read between the lines) as well.
What do you like/not like about book groups?
Image result for book gifs funnyWhat I like about book groups is easy, crackers. Andddddd how we actually learn stuff from the discussions. What I don't like about book groups, them ending.
Would you recommend doing book groups again next year?

My second reaction
Today's post is about............ART! At school we are having an art fair! Usually we have topics like layers of the earth, space, famous artists you get the point but this year we are doing the bible. My first reaction was well depressed/horrified. I mean the bible has cool stories and stuff but I mean drawing about it really. But then I got told we were doing the revelation and my reaction changed completely! The revelation is basically the crazy part of the bible where dragons eat babies and stuff. Enough said well on to the Q&A!
What is your favorite piece of art?
Probably the mixed media art, its basically a whole lot of symbols from the revelation mixed together.
What techniques have you learnt?
I have learnt how to use paper cutter properly, sponging, painting and yeah....

!MOVIES!(YES)

Hello people,
Image result for lord of the rings two towers
Today's post is about.......MOVIES! *YAY*. Sooooooooo, we have to talk about a movie that we watched recently, in my case that movie being LORD OF THE RINGS! For those who don't know lord of the rings is a trilogy of movies and the second one (the two towers) is my favourite. So that's the one I'm going to write about!
Okay so the main characters are *deep breath* Frodo (the hero/Harry Potter), Samwise (the side kick,/Hermione/Ron), Merry and Pippin (the funny twins/Fred/ George), Gandalf (the wise old dude/Dumbledore) Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli (the cool adults/ Lupin/Hagrid ect...) and last but DEFINITLY not least Sauron (the evil one/Voldermort.) The basic plot is that Harry *cough, cough* I mean Frodo is sent on a quest to destroy the ring of power. He goes with EVERYONE I just named except Sauron whose to busy getting ready to kill the world but along the way the realise that the ring, IS ABLE TO CONTROL PEOPLES MINDS!
Well that's all I can say without spoiling anything, so I don't know, watch the movie?

Image result for book gifsSup people, I'm back with another post! It's about............BOOK GROUPS! For those who don't know what book groups there basically groups that everyone in the class are sorted into based on the difficulty of the book, the best thing about it is YOU GET A SAY IN WHICH BOOK YOU READ! The book I'm reading is called "The Dark Is Rising" On to the Q and A!
Are you working well together?
I think so, were not going off topic or been stupid. (By the the way the people in my group are Sandrine (YAY), Liam R and Alex B) I'm in quite a small group which makes it easier to include everybody. So yeah, we are working well together.
How have you been contributing to your group?
I have been contributing by..... I don't know? I always read the right amount and talk. And I do contribute my ideas (My big sister Elizabeth is reading this over my back talking about her experiences with book groups😆)
What do you think of your book so far?
I like it a lot, it's written really well and the story line is AMAZING!!

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII,
Image result for kiwi gifs
We didn't see a kiwi :,(
Sup people! today's post is about.....................GRANDPARENTS!(You would know that if you read the title😒)And a happy memory of a time you spent with them. OK I AM READY!
My happiest memory is going to Soames Island (a place out in the harbor) with my whole family PLUS my Grandparents. For those who don't know Soames Island is basically a sanctuary for species native to New Zealand like tuataras, kiwis, a special type of skink and little blue penguins (there were way more animals which I can't remember the names of.) So we took a speed boat into the harbor with like 30 other people, it only took 15 minutes. So we got there and were told about - bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla. Eventually we got the little cabin we were staying in over night and had lunch. During lunch Marama (my little sister) was being a pain in the ass so I threw a glass of water on her face. Not my proudest moment. So that evening we decided to have a night time walk around the Island my dad, my Nana and I stayed near the back away from all the noise talking quietly. Then I hear this rustling in a bush;
Image result for tuatara gifs"Dad is that you," I wispered
"No,"
And then, out of no were, pops out my sister! Nah, just kiding, no it was a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE tuatara! We just stared at each other for a few minutes, until it eventually ran back into the bushes. (Haha Marama, YOU didn't see a tuatara like ME.) So thats my memory,

Who wants a pony?

Hello people, Lionblaze is BACK!
Image result for juggling gifWho wants a pony? Because I want a pony. Ponies are cool. But that has nothing to do with today's post, NOPE! Today I'm going to be talking about a book called juggling with mandarins. The book is about a boy called Phillip, nick named Pip, who has a really competitive dad. He feels like his dad only cares if he wins his football game or not. But the thing is Pip's REALLY BAD at football/soccer. He has a big brother called Nick and a little sister named Madeline (she is only a baby.) The book is a moving story of a boy struggling to be happy and to impress his father. OK that's my intro over and done with, time for the Q&A.
What parts did you relate to most?
Ummmmmm............? I did't relate to anything..........well maybe....... Okay I've got it! At one point in the book Pip got really hooked to a sport (Can't tell you what it is). When I was younger I started netball and, like Pip I was hooked. I still play to this day, even if I'm not any good.
Chose two characters and write about them.
Image result for warrior cats funny harry potter
#WarriorcatsandHarryPotter
Cool, here goes...........My first character is Pip. I chose him partly because he is awesome and partly because he IS the main character, so its good to know a bit about him. Pip is 13 years old and desperately wants to be as good as his big brother Nick at SOMETHING! Nick seems to be good at everything from soccer to making dad mad. All pip seems to be good at is messing stuff up, oh yeah he also has a bit of a crush on a rather pretty girl...... My second character is Madeline, shes only a baby at the age of 18 months. She is a very important character to the book, with out knowing it she encourages Pip to keep trying in his juggling ambition. Madeline helps him along his journey, as he slowly progress she to slowly progress, learning to walk, they both help each other through tough times sharing the never ending bond of sibling love.

DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no I am not overly exited)

Image result for doctor who intro gif
This is the intro to each episode
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii,
Sup people, lionblaze is in THE HOUSE, as you can see by the title;
a) this weeks topic is doctor who
b) I am not at all excited about this
Many of you may be asking "how can this be, surely not everybody in room 12 watches it?" To answer your question, no, this week we get to chose something we are currently addicted to. For me doctor who=addiction. Okay, time for the Q&A:
Explain a bit about it for those who DON'T know much about it.
(That's not a question, meh)
Doctor who is about a time traveler and his assistant (always a girl????) who go on adventures to different galaxies. The series has a mix a humor, terror, adventure and, unfortunately cliff hangers. Most of the episodes, in fact ALL of the episodes have aliens in them. That is not to surprising considering that the Doctor himself is an alien. He looks much like a human, but he has two hearts, is MUCH SMARTER than an average human. Oh yeah, he can also regenerate. In the doctor's case regeneration means that if he is in a situation where he is about to die he regenerates the doctor will changes his appearance and personality. Each time that happens he is played by a different actor I'm currently on David Tennant. Last thing, most of you are probably wondering, why are you calling him the doctor? That's because no one except the doctor knows his true name.
How long have you been interested in it?
Probably since  I was nine. That was when dad introduced it to me. It is 'kinda a family tradition that dad watches it with whoever is nine. It started with Elizabeth and hopefully will happen with Marama as well.
Image result for doctor who gif brilliant
David Tennant's catchphrase
What is so great about it?
THE INTRO! Every time we start an episode I just stare at the T.V and my face just moves along with the tardis (the police box). I do not react to ANYTHING before the intro is over. To this day I don't know why my family think I'm weird. Apart from that I love the perfect balance of humor and action. The show leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat and will stay with you long after its finished. The characters are believable and interesting, each plot is better than the last. And don't even get me started on the plot twists! The show is perfect for anyone who likes being scared out of their mind one second, rolling around on the floor with laughter the next.

school roles

Image result for super hero gif
Hello, hello, HELLO,
How are you all? Lionblaze is in the house and its time to GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!! Today I'm going to be talking about the rolls I have around the school. My rolls are, first aid monitor, librarian and road patroller. Okay docay time for the Q&A
How do you help others through these roles?
For the first aid I help people by giving them ice packs, plasters and help there friends comfort them. When I'm on library I recommend people books, issue books, return books and shelve books (I chose this role because of all the books involved). And finally being a road patroller, I help people by getting them across busy roads safely.
What do you enjoy about them?
Let me think...... I enjoy seeing kids leaving the first aid with a smile on there faces compered to there sad ones when they first entered. For the librarian roll I just love reading so anything with books involved is good for me. Last but not least is being a road patroller. I just like to see people across the road safely with out, you know without being hit by cars.
        What have you learned?
Well while been on first aid I have learned that it is REALLY hard to get splinters out of fingers and that some people are SUPER clumsy. After been on the library for so long I have learned the spelling for library AND the lay out of the schools library much better. For road patrol I have learnt a few road rules and how late buses usually are.
What have/do you find/found challenging?
Image result for warrior cats brightheart
#warriorcatbittersweetniss
Not that much, only the exact stuff to put on injuries like the right sized plaster or ointment and stuff like that. Nothing for the librarian roll, except maybe learning the lay out of the library at the start of the year. Again nothing much for been on road patrol, only how loud my voice needs to be when I'm shouting stuff like "signs out,", "check,", "clear,", "cross now, " and "signs in,"
Do you have any suggestions for changes which could be made to this role?
No suggestions for any of the roles except for first aid. We should  get trained A LOT earlier, I have been on for TWO TERMS and I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED.

Well after the awesome subject of last week I should of guessed that all would fall, this post is about the horrors of CROSS COUNTRY! (It was actually a blessing when I broke my arm a few years ago.) *tears falling down my face* now for the Q&A of torture;
How did it go for you?
I did OK. Coming seventh is not the best I have ever done, but it's not horrible.
Do you feel like your fitness improved?
Image result for cross country gifsNo! I mean running a few kilometers isn't gonna improve my fitness.
Image result for warrior cats cute

Do you feel that you showed perseverance?
Well I probably broke my lungs so yes, yes I think I showed perseverance.
What can you do to keep on improving your fitness and perseverance?
Urrrrrrrrrrrrr, my mum has a running club she goes to on Saturdays I could go to that now and then.

HiiiIIIiiiIIIiiiIIIiii,
Image result for throne of glass
Yesssssssss! OMG! finally I get to talk about books! Usually I would talk about warriors, but *sigh* I know at least 3 other people who will write about warriors so instead I'm going to talk about......... THRONE OF GLASS! *yay, smile, rainbows* Soooo instead of droning on like an idiot I'm just going to go start the BEST Q&A ever :3;
What is the title and author?
I've already told you the title, throne of glass whereas the author is Sarah J. Maas
What genre is it?
Urrr, probably fantasy, yeah definitely fantasy.
Describe plot and setting (but avoid spoilers)
Well its about. Wait no spoilers. OK its set in a different universe which still has kings and queens ruling over like every continent. The main character is called Celaena and she is basically a slave in a HORRIBLE salt mine, where everyone dies after two years there. The reason shes a slave is....... R-E-A-D T-H-E B-O-O-K
Haha, joking shes there 'cause..........Nah you gotta read the book. Warning this is a bloody and gruesome book, the exact opposite of rainbow fairies.
Which character did you relate to the most? Why?
Image result for throne of glassUmmmmmm, urrrrrrrrr, ??????????????????????, I think Celaena, because, URGGG I CAN NOT EXPLAIN WITHOUT SPOILING THE BOOK........so I'm just going to say READ THE BOOK!
Well that's the Q&A for today.
